Not sure f anyone will read this or if it will be welcome but for what it is worth here is some personal feedback from this years event
Pros: - Very chilled, friendly festival. - Good choice of food. Beer also (but only if you went to the beer fest tent, otherwise it was the usual Tuborg/Somersby stuff (plus trooper (which is good)). £4.50 a pint is about standard - Bands. Subjective I know but I thought that on the whole a great mix. I kinda fell out of love with the Scorpions years ago but have to say, they were excellent. A good set (albeit late start) and v good show A personal favourite for me was Anathema on the Saturday and Bernie Marsden on the Sunday. - Glamping. With exception of toilet gripe (see below) I thought this was very good. - VIP area in arena. Awesome place, though weather on Sunday put a strain on room/seats available. A partially undercover area overlooking main stage was very civilized and allowed you to watch main stage in comfort if you chose too . Good toilets as well Cons: - Sound bleed between all 3 stages was really poor. Not sure what is to be done here short of making site bigger or maybe do what Soni used to by alternating sets between 2 main stages - 3rd stage not big enough. - Glamping toilets - 2 mens crappers not enough for the number of blokes there. Enough urinals and showers though. - Organisation of wristbands. I went VIP, they let me in with ticket but didn't give wristband. We needed to leave again to sort it out. It was an inconvenience but nothing more. Was aware of others in General Admission having trouble around this area but as I say, for me just an inconvenience. - VIP in general. Aside from the arena area (see above), you got nothing else for your money. - Set lengths. Maybe they should have reduced number of bands on each stage and each day cause set lengths were just not long enough. 35/40 mins for a band 4 down on main stage (Blue Oyster Cult) was just not enough. - Weather. Nothing could be done about terrible weather on Sunday but it dampened atmosphere, people not bothering to come in or leaving early meant crowd size for headliner was really poor. All in all a great weekend for me and a festival I will be going back to you next year (early birds on sale now). Some improvements can be made but I guess that can be said of any festival.

I can't really comment on on Sunday event as we only went for the first day but i sympathize with folk who had to endure the wet Sunday weather. Totally agree with comments re set length for some of the bands .. Blue Oyster Cult are legends ffs!!! way not long enough. Also the clash of Scorpions and Camel was a massive blunder imo. I thought the beer tents were a big improvement on the last High Voltage i was at ... inclusion of Trooper as a standard beer ... inspired!! We booked seats in the grandstand ... merrily went thru the gates via a long queue and then were told we would have to go in, then out again and get our wristbands outside!! Fortunately when we went in, a marshal advised us to go to the info tent inside and we got wristbands ... think this is an easy one to iron out for next year. Toilets seemed ok .. and even the missus was happy enough with the ladies loos. Food catering was great and the missus reckoned the little clothes stalls were pretty spot on. All in all we had a great Saturday and (band listing permitted) will definitely be back next year.

Personally I like the system they have of more bands over longer times. It means that I get to experience bands I'd never have given a chance otherwise (Solstafir in particular springs to mind immmediately, they wouldn't normally be my thing but their setlist was near perfection in the rain, oddly enough) while other bands that don't have much crowd interaction or entertainment value don't drag on too long *cough* Dream Theater *cough cough cough* I think the biggest problem is certainly the sound bleed, the main stage was too close to both the prog and especially the blues stage, if the main stage could be moved a little further from those two then that's about it. That's honestly my only complaint, everything else was simply wonderful in my view.

As has been said, friendly, relaxed, good lack of idiots. Sound overlap/bleed was torture, ruined Scorps acoustic set. Point the prog stage away from the main and turn it up! How about a tribute tent - you ain't gonna get ACDC or any mega bands (its to wee) so why not the next best things?

I was only there for the Saturday and really enjoyed it , but thought Dream Theater would have been more suited to prog stage. Agree with comments re-the sound bleed this needs looked at ,Beer fest was excellent , food not bad, all in all a success hope to return next year.
